We carried out a complete refurbishment of the washrooms at this iconic British biscuit brand’s Yorkshire HQ, as well as helping to transform a dated canteen area into a bright and welcoming communal space.
The staff canteen and washrooms are some of the highest-traffic sites at the company’s Batley headquarters and both were in need of significant upgrades. Our brief was to refurbish the existing washrooms, which no longer met the company’s high standards for hygiene, accessibility and staff comfort.
Over the course of six weeks we carried out a complete strip-out of the men’s and women’s washrooms, installed new cubicles (including a multi-faith access cubicle), new sinks and sanitaryware, water heaters and booster units, and added full-height duct access panels to improve long-term maintainability. We also adapted existing plumbing systems, adding concealed cisterns, modern taps and accessibility-compliant features.Full redecoration was carried out, along with the installation of new mirrors, and we commissioned and oversaw chlorination and lab testing of all new installations to ensure compliance.
We installed new flooring throughout the canteen and surrounding areas, including a number of meeting rooms and break-out rooms.
Over the course of three weeks we removed the existing worn floor coverings, replacing them with a hygienic, durable, easy-to-maintain alternative.
All works were phased and carefully coordinated with the client team to ensure minimal disruption and that production could continue safely throughout the programme.
The upgraded finish has improved both safety and aesthetics across the facility, providing a long-lasting and practical outcome for the client, and a more welcoming environment for staff.
